Today is also the due date to submit the Beowulf project. It is the final assignment of British Culture and Literature II. Our lecturer gives several options that we can choose: Comic book; Newspaper; Film; Board Game; Collage; Essay; Dramatic Interpretation; or we can make another creative creation. We can work with a partner, and my partner in this project is Tata. Tata and I choose to make a Beowulf model with four stages of his life. Here I'm gonna tell you a little about Beowulf's poem.

The first stage of Beowulf's poem is also the beginning of the story. Beowulf came to help king Hrothgar to kill Grendel. Grendel is a monster who attack King Hrothgar's mead-hall, Heorot, and kill Danish warriors.

Unfortunately, Grendel has an overprotective mother who seek for revenge for her son's death. Beowulf chase Grendel's mother until her lair and have a duel with her there. Beowulf, again, successfully defeat his rival. Beowulf then returns to the Geatland and becomes the king.

After 50 years of his reign, one day a dragon comes to attack his kingdom. Beowulf finally able to defeat the dragon with the encouragement from his trusty man, Wiglaf. However, Beowulf is seriously wounded and finally die.

In the end, after Beowulf's death, the Geats build an enermous funeral pyre for him, heaped with treasures.

Tata and I think that our project is execution-fail :B What we had in our mind is very very very different with the final result. We feel so mbleret  when we see our friends' project. Here I have some of their works.

FYI, they didn't draw the pics themselves. Still, their idea is really creative.
